2023 Lake of the Woods Speedway Season Preview
#25
Alexander Farr
WISSOTA Pure Stock
Hometown: Landmark, MB
In only five years of racing, Farr has built an impressive resume. With sixteen (16) career wins, the 2021 Lake of the Woods Speedway 4-Cylinder Track Champion and Victory Lane Track Champion, as well as 2017 Rookie of the Year at ALH Speedway and RRCS (Victory Lane Speedway), there is no shortage of accolades.
This also includes being the 2022 WISSOTA Pure Stock Rookie of the Year at Lake of the Woods Speedway and Victory Lane Speedway. He also finished second in 2022 WISSOTA Northern Pure Stock Standings and at LOTW Speedway.
His first ever race at the track was on the Grand Season Opener on August 6, 2018 (Raindated) where he finished fifth in the heat, and second in the feature.
Farr’s sponsors are LDN Auto Service, Emloc Hydraulics , XO Fleurist Flowers, Peppies Pizza, and Glad Lab.
Pit Crew includes his Dad (Todd), Mom (Mitch), John and Ethan Friesen, Matt Neirinck, and Brayden Smith.
As for the history of his involvement in racing, Farr’s uncle raced in the late 1980s and 1990s.
Since he was born, he has been going to the race track.
“In 2014, I got the chance to pit for Danny Staff for a few years until my Uncle got a Super Truck and started racing. It wasn’t long until I wanted to get in the drivers seat.”
Only a couple years later, in 2016, Farr bought a 4-Cylinder and raced the last race of the year, finished near the back in 21st.
“I choose my number because of my Uncle Bob who sadly passed away in January of 2018.”
While he doesn’t have any specific stories to tell, Farr loves to meet new people and go to different tracks throughout the season to create new stories.
This season’s expectations are not much different than before, “I plan to attend as many as I can at Lake of the Woods Speedway. I love the track, the facility and the fans are great! I would actually love to finish the race in the lead more this year, instead of three laps to go getting a flat.”
Promoter’s Thoughts – “Alexander Farr was a surprise rookie in the WISSOTA Pure Stocks in 2022 taking a feature win after almost missing the event night. Hopefully, Farr can avoid the dreaded sophomore slump and continue to build on last year’s first season in the V8 class."
Turn and Burn, Alex!
