The types of classes Lake of the Woods Speedway plans to run include:
WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds (OFFICIAL RULES: CLICK HERE)
The costs may or may not include safety gear (depending on what you get or build the car for). SAFETY IS A PRIORITY
Generally, the cost of getting brand new safety gear is approx $1,500-$2,000 and used can be anywhere from $1000-$1,250.
Raceceivers will be required for racing once racing events start: It is a one way radio for officials to communicate to drivers in case of cautions, red flags, and other important information.
Transponders may also be used once the track is built. Cost is about $250 new or cheaper for used. Rentals will also be available (we hope to do a rent to own deal once we are in operation).
The rules on these classes will be same as Red River Co-op Speedway in Winnipeg (www.redrivercoopspeedway.ca) for the Pure Stocks and 4-Cylinders, while the rules for the Midwest Modifieds are from WISSOTA.
